Sunday Drive on the Natchez Trace

This past Sunday Paul and I needed to get out and take a drive to see new scenery. So we brought Bunni and got in the car and took off. We made a huge loop...first we got on the Natchez Trace (this road has hardly anyone on it!), then we drove to Tupelo, Mississippi and turned around and came back through Red Bay, Alabama, then back home. It was a gorgeous drive! Here are some pictures that we took:

For the Love of Flowers

Okay...so I had to add these pictures, too! I found another picture of me holding up a flower in the same exact pose as Neil!!! Look at these pictures, too, before looking at the ones below! It just blows me away. I love my precious nephew!!! We have a love for nature!!!

I think my nephew, Neil, has inherited his love of flowers from his Aunt Liz!!! Check this out...we are even doing the same squat in a field looking at flowers!!! I think we must have been about the same age. Look at these pictures:

Me: about 1980-81 (?)

A Father's Day Weekend Like No Other!

This past weekend Paul and I nearly lost our precious little darling, Bunni. It's sad that it so happened to be on Father's Day Weekend. By the way, I do hope that all the Dads and Grandpas out there had a wonderful Father's Day!
Anyway, back to my story of almost losing Bunni. Bunni ended up getting into poison behind the dryer that the exterminator left and it was a miracle that she made it on Saturday night!!! We noticed that her beard and teeth were covered in the blue residue and we had a feeling she ate quite a lot of the poison. Paul looked up the symptoms of dogs being poisoned and we only had 2 hours to get her to an emergency clinic! Already Bunni's stomach was bloating and hard as a rock and her eyes got really bloodshot. Since Bunni is so tiny and due to the large amount of poison she ate, we only had like an hour to drive into town to the clinic. Paul speed as fast as he could while I held a motionless, limp Bunni in my lap. I was so afraid we would get pulled over by a cop and waste valuable time which we didn't have. Finally we got Bunni to the vet in the niche of time! They told us that if we had waited another 2o minutes, she would have died!!!! The vet gave Bunni a Morphine derivative IV which made her vomit up everything in her stomach. They also gave her a Vitamin K shot. Currently, Bunni is doing extremely better and will be on Vitamin K for a total of 30 days. The life is back in her eyes and she is energetic again! Enclosed is a picture of Bunni borrowing her cousin, Sophie's, blanket. :)

Beautiful Scenery and Sunset

I wanted to share some pictures that I took last weekend when Paul and I were coming back from West Virginia...the mountains in Cumberland Gap in Tennessee and the sunset we saw in Scottsboro, Alabama were absolutely breath-taking.

Memorial Day Weekend and Bryce's Graduation

This past weekend, Paul and I made a surprise visit to see our second oldest nephew, Bryce, graduate from high school. Lord willing, we hope to make it to all of our nephews' and niece's graduations. Bryce was so happy we came and we definitely surprised him...he had the biggest grin on his face when he saw us there! After the ceremony, Paul's mom and sister had a graduation party for Bryce. Paul's mom made pulled pork barbecue and his sister got the cutest graduation decorations and we all played Corn Hole which is a very fun game (it's very common in the northeast/Appalachian region.) Here are some pictures to share:

Bryce walking to get his diploma.

A lot of the students decorated their hats. Bryce did his, too.

It was hilarious! A guy in the crowd looked just like Dwight Schrute on the Office!!! So many people were taking pictures of him!!!

I think BJ looks a lot like Paul...and Bryce does, too, in this picture.
