The Last Part of the Trip to Texas

Well, here's the last part of our Texas trip in pictures. We did all of the following in ONE day!!! I'm telling you, I seriously don't know how we did it!!! We traveled from Columbus, Texas...then on to San Antonio...then on to Fredericksburg, Dripping Springs, Austin, Belton, Waco, Dallas, and finally on to Arkedelphia where we crashed for the night!!! A FULL day I tell you!!! Paul did most of the driving, so I give full credit to him for the 16 hour total trip for the day. Oh how I love this man!!! He wanted me to see as much of Texas as I could...he knew how homesick I was. Paul also had never seen these parts of Texas, so he also enjoyed it very much as well. We both love to travel, so it was very pleasant!!! :) I'll tell the story through the pictures:

Texas Flag!!!!
We did a VERY quick tour of San Antonio
Saw the beautiful river walk....
posed on the bridge...
saw a Mariachi Band and people dining on the river boat

THE ALAMO...Paul loved it!!! We watched the movie when we got back home!
It had been years since I last posed in front of the Alamo....

My handsome hubby!!!! I love him so!!!!!

After our quick San Antonio tour...we headed on to Fredericksburg and saw this on the road....only in Texas!!!!!

We saw this right before we got on the Old Fredericksburg Rd.

Traveling down the Old Fredericksburg Rd.

I totally fell in love with this little baby calf. He was precious!!!!!!!!!!!
I will NEVER eat meat again!!!! This little guy was rubbing his neck on the stump. I want a calf like this!!! He would make a great pet!!!!

Our dog, Bunni, barked at this herd. They were alarmed!!!!

Texas Cattle....

Pretty windmill....

I felt God's presence so many times on the trip....this cross on the hill was beautiful...thank you, Jesus for taking care of us!!!!
One thing I LOVE and remember most as a child is the Pink Buttercups. They were covering the hillsides along with the Bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrushes. Did y'all ever do this as a child? You smell the flower and put it right up to your nose...then....

the yellow pollen gets on the tip of your nose.....

sights on the road....

On our way to Dripping Springs....

Just as we entered Austin City Limits, we saw Hey Cupcake!
Austin with Paul's favorite sky scrapper there....

Austin has grown since the last time I was there! Traffic is still the same though!

Literally got off the highway quickly to show Paul my school...seriously drove right past it....

Beautiful field! On the way to Waco...

More Texas Wildflowers

Sunset right outside of Waco

The next morning, I did some driving for Paul....I was like a sombie!!!!

Texas Trip: Part 8

One of our favorite parts of the trip was seeing my beloved Texas Bluebonnets!!! This was Paul's very first time to see them. He was truly amazed by their simple beauty. These seriously are my most favorite flowers in the entire world. I longed to see the vast blue fields of these gorgeous flowers in the Hill Country. Here is our family photo shoot in the Bluebonnets:

Texas Trip: Part 7

Wow! I am on part seven! I was so blessed to be able to see my friends, Rebecca and Claire, while I was in Houston! I finally got to meet Rebecca's boyfriend, Corey, too! He was a very nice guy with a great sense of humor! It was such a wonderful very short visit...I wish it could have been so much longer! We got to see where Claire works and I am just so thankful that we were all in the same place at the same time! It worked out perfectly. Here are some fun photos:

Claire, me, Rebecca...posing by the green tree. Thanks Corey for taking the picture. :)
Posing again...the lighting was better here.

Corey sneeked taking this picture! LOL! We were trying to get a leaf out of Claire's hair. I look zoned out in this picture!

I finally got to see them as a couple! Rebecca and Corey!

Texas Trip: Part 6

Another special part of the trip was being able to go to Katy to meet my newest relative, baby Grant. My cousin had her baby this past March. Grant is such a beautiful and sweet natured baby!!! He was so peaceful and had a little smile on his face while he napped. Paul and I didn't get to stay long...just enough to be able to catch up on how Catherine was doing and to be able to hold and admire little Grant. He was so adorable!!!

Catherine is an awesome mom!!! Look at that baby's smile!!!
Such a little darling!!!! He was precious!!!!

Holding my new little cousin. (How would you call your cousin's baby? 1st cousin once removed or 2nd cousin?! Well, let's just say "cousin.")

Sweetest little baby!!!!!!!

My beautiful cousin and her precious son!!!!!
