Part 2 of Trip: Colorado

On the Deluge Lake Trail in Vail. I loved how the fog was coming off the river and how the sun was shining on the Aspen Trees early in the morning. God is awesome and when I'm out in nature I just stand in awe of Him for how great He is!!!!
Wild blue Mountain Irises were everywhere!

On the Deluge Lake Trail...this little stream was running down the hill right next to the trail...the water was freezing cold.

The gorgeous Aspen Trees...they were everywhere in Vail! These are my all-time favorite trees!

We hiked the Deluge Lake Trail. The hiking trails in Vail were so lush green with more Aspen Trees than I have ever seen before...I also loved all the wildflowers that were there!

Paul's and my sister, BJ, gave us a weeks vacation in a condo in gorgeous Vail, CO! Vail has got to be one of the most beautiful towns I have ever been to. Thank you, BJ for this sweet gift you gave Paul and me!!!

We went to Leadville and ate at the legendary Golden Burro. I had no idea it receives National Recognition and it's been on the Food Network before!

We saw so many Prairie Dog holes all around the Arkansas River near Leadville...Paul zoomed in a lot on this little Prairie Dog...he popped out of his hole and looked surprized as Paul took his picture. :)

The headwaters of the Arkansas River. Just outside of Leadville.

This picture was taken on our way to Leadville, CO. We went to the headwaters of the Arkansas River and these mountains were in the background...the two tallest mountains in Colorado: Mt. Elbert and Mt. Massive.

Hiking at Rocky Mountain National Park

My precious hubby at Rocky Mountain National Park

Downtown Denver was beautiful!

First Part of the Trip Pictures in Kansas

Paul and I fell in love with Kansas City, Missouri! It had the most gorgeous skyline. After taking pictures of that beautiful city, we traveled through the entire state of Kansas! We loved the wheat...took pictures in it and enjoyed hearing it as the wind blew through. Afterwards we took a little side trip to Lindsborg...a Swedish town in Kansas which has Dala Horses.

We're Back From Vacation!

Paul and I got back from a very long vacation today. We're EXHAUSTED! We traveled by car to Vail, Colorado. Paul's sister, BJ, was so sweet to give us a wonderful week's stay in a beautiful condo in breath-taking Vail! We also traveled to Moab, Utah and Rocky Mountain National Park and many more awesome places! Here are two pictures I love...we were on our way to Utah here and these pictures are taken in Western Colorado. I will let Paul update more vacation pictures soon! :)

I'd Rather Have Jesus More than Anything

"Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." Hebrews 13:5

This verse reminds me of one of my favorite old-time hymns:

I’d Rather Have Jesus – The Lyrics
I’d rather have Jesus than silver or gold;
I’d rather be His than have riches untold;
I’d rather have Jesus than houses or lands,
I’d rather be led by His nail pierced hand.

Than to be a king of a vast domain or be held in sin’s dread sway,
I’d rather have Jesus than anything
This world affords today.

I’d rather have Jesus than men’s applause;
I’d rather be faithful to His dear cause;
I’d rather have Jesus than world-wide fame,
I’d rather be true to His holy name.

He’s fairer than lilies of rarest bloom;
He’s sweeter than honey from out of the comb;
He’s all that my hungering spirit needs,
I’d rather have Jesus and let Him lead.

Grandpa M.L. and His Little Brother Robbie Neal

Here is a sweet picture of my Grandpa M.L. with his little brother, Robbie Neal. Grandpa was born in 1914 and this picture was taken around 1931. Grandpa made this wagon for his little brother. And here is a more recent picture of Grandpa and me.

Yummy Muffins...You've Got to Try Them!

Ok. Well, I am having problems again with trying to get a picture on here. If I can get Paul to help me, then later I will post the picture of the muffins.
Y'all have got to try Hodgson Mill Apple Cinnamon Muffins. It comes in a muffin mix box...they are truly the best muffins I've ever had and they are so healthy for you. First of all, they are loaded with flaxseed, second they are Gluten-Free (I can't tolerate gluten, so this is great!), and thirdly they are made with real apples. I made these muffins this past Sunday and Paul LOVED them (of course I did, too). Usually on Sunday if I eat a good breakfast (Oatmeal, Gluten-Free waffels, or grits, Almond Rice toast and turkey bacon) then during the church service I am starving. Well, this time I ate the apple cinnamon muffins and literally I was full until we got home from church. Unbelievable! Seriously, go to your local grocery store and see if you can find these muffins. Hodgson Mill is the brand and usually they are with the cake/muffin mixes/flour. If not, they might be with the health food...and unfortunately, if they aren't there, then your local health food store will more than likely carry it. If you love muffins, go try these tasty little treats. You'll love them (at least I hope you will).

Everybody Has a Bad Hair Day

Bunni's hair stood straight up and needed no hair spray to do so. One of her eyes looks a "copper" color...it always does this with the flash of cameras.

Vacation time is around the corner

It won't be long until Paul and I will be seeing this beautiful gateway arch in St. Louis! We are leaving on our big trip in two weeks! We'll be traveling through Tennessee, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas and then we'll be in Colorado. (I think this is right...Paul has the whole trip mapped out already!!!) I'm very excited to see all these wonderful places. This will be our first vacation that we've ever taken together...we'll be traveling to such awesome places!
