This Past Weekend in Memphis

This past weekend, Paul and I headed to Memphis to see Paul's sister and our sweet nephews. Paul's parents were in town so we got to visit with them, too. My parents-in-law left early Saturday morning, but Paul and I stayed until Sunday. It was so much fun! Gillis and I went shopping and Paul spent time with the boys. We also went to Beale Street and ate at the Flying Fish and went on a carriage ride downtown. Our nephews got two new Beagles and Paul helped put the doggie kennel together. Enclosed are some pictures. Some of them are out of order.

Paul was so proud that he got that kennel together! You can see it in the background. Oh...we also went swimming in Gillis' pool...it was fun!
Andrew and his new puppy named Abby. :)

Paul took this one of Andrew. I couldn't resist putting this on here. He was waiting on his Mac-n-Cheese. :)

Our Favorite Place

One of our all-time favorite places is Arches National Park in Moab, Utah. We went here last month and I never got around to putting the pictures up. I was looking through our Moab photo album today and I thought this would be a good time to share these pictures with y'all.

Clarkson Covered Bridge and Crooked Creek Civil War Museum

This past weekend my hubby and I along with our Maltipoo, Bunni, took a trip to an old 1900s covered bridge here in Alabama. It didn't take us that long to get here and we happened to stumble across a Civil War Museum on the way! We weren't sure if we could go to the museum since we had a dog with us, but the owner let us take the tour with Bunni!

Blueberry Picking and Mt. Cheaha

Paul and I went blueberry picking and visited the tallest mountian in Alabama this past weekend. I love Southern Living magazines and I happened to stumble across one of their articles about various Blueberry farms and one happened to be in our state...Craft's Blueberry Farm! This is the website if you want to check it out: www.craftsblueberryfarm.net. We sampled the blueberries while we picked them...they are delicious!!! I have never tasted such sweet berries!
This farm happened to be near the tallest mountain in Alabama, Mt. Cheaha, so we visited there after we picked our blueberries.
I just love my husband and spending time with him!!! We had so much fun on our little adventure!!!

I am the Moon with No Light of My Own...

One of my favorite songs is by Sara Groves called, "You are the Sun." Paul took these amazing pictures of the moon last night in our backyard. It was the brightest moon I've seen in a long time. As I look at these pictures, Sara Grove's song comes to mind.
Lyrics to You Are The Sun :
You are the sun shining down on everyone
Light of the world giving light to everything I see
Beauty so brilliant I can hardly take it in
And everywhere you are is warmth and light

And I am the moon with no light of my own
Still you have made me to shine
And as I glow in this cold dark night
I know I cannot be a light unless I turn my face to you

You are the sun shining down on everyone
Light of the world giving light to everything I see
Beauty so brilliant I can hardly take it in
And everywhere you are is warmth and light

And I am the moon with no light of my own
Still you have made me to shine
And as I glow in this cold dark night
I know I cannot be a light unless I turn my face to you

Shine on me with your light
Without you I'm a cold dark stone
Shine on me I have no light of my own
You are the sun, you are the sun, you are the sun
And I am the moon

Recap of July 4th

We had a very laid back and relaxing 4th of July: Hebrew National Hotdogs, watermellon, Gluten-Free Betty Crocker Cupcakes, and we got to watch the fireworks from our own front yard. God has blessed us so much.

Some Good Scripture

I was going to put some pictures up from the 4th of July, but I don't know how to put the pictures on this computer...so I have to wait until Paul can help me. :) Until I get those pictures on here, I have some scripture that I want to share from my little "Quiet Moments from the Bible Daily Devotional." My Aunt Lynn back in Texas gave me this little book years ago and I have treasured it always.

"Wealth lies not in the extent of possessions, but in the fewness of wants."
"Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." Hebrews 13:5 NIV

"Prayer prepares."
"Lord, when doubts fill my mind, when my heart is in turmoil, quiet me and give me renewed hope and cheer." Psalm 94:19 TLB

"More people would learn from their mistakes if they weren't so busy denying them." Harold J. Smith
"A man who refuses to admit his mistakes can never be successful. But if he confesses and forsakes them, he gets another chance." Proverbs 28:13 TLB

"It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed." Theodore Roosevelt
"But come on, all of you, try again!" Job 17:10a NIV

"May the Lord bless and protect you; may the Lord's face radiate with joy because of you' may he be gracious to you, show you his favor, and give you his peace." Numbers 6:24-26 TLB

Trip to Little Rock

This past week, my mom and Rebecca drove over from Georgia and picked me up in Alabama...we then drove to Little Rock to spend a couple of days with my sister and brother-in-law and precious nephew, Neil! I haven't seen Neil since he was born and this was Rebecca's first time to meet him. It was a great visit.
I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my little nephew!!!!

Everybody was watching Neil since this was his first time ever in a swimming pool...he was SO cute in that little swimming diaper!

My sister is such a great mom! She and my bro-in-law are awesome parents!

Neil had on the most precious little sleep outfit...it had little bunny rabbits on the footsies. Neil looks so adorable in yellow!

Neil greeted us with a big grin!
