Even when our world seems so out of control at times, it's nice to know that our God is still on His throne and He's in control of all things here on earth! For our Father has the whole world in His hands!

Little Yellow Flower in the Desert

When Paul and I were out in the desert this past summer, we both noticed this beautiful little yellow flower pushing up from the rocks. It made me think of our walk with Christ. Sometimes in life we go through trials and hardships and face many difficulties, but all the Lord wants us to do is trust Him through it all. If we keep focusing just on Him alone and letting Him nourish us with His Word, He'll bring forth many blessings and will allow our roots to grow deep. It reminds me of this flower. This little flower probably has it hard out there in the desert...the winds, not much soil, and the heat. But God takes care of it and allows its to bloom despite all that could hinder it to grow.

The Aspen Tree

My favorite tree in the world is the Aspen. I love this tree!!! Paul and I took many pictures of Aspen trees in Colorado this past June. One thing I love is hearing the Aspen leaves quake and watching them tremble as the wind blows through. They are such delicate trees. I wish one day that I could see these trees in the Autumn. I hear they turn such bright colors and are breath-taking.

Here is the scripture I read today from my devotional. I am going to meditate on this today. I wanted to share it with y'all. We do have such a wonderful Father who comforts and strengthens us with His Mercy everyday!!!
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
"What a wonderful God we have...who so wonderfully comforts and strengthens us in our hardships and trials. And why does he do this? So that when others are troubled, needing our sympathy and encouragement, we can pass on to them this same help and comfort God has given us."

This Past Weekend in Memphis

This past weekend, Paul and I headed to Memphis to see Paul's sister and our sweet nephews. Paul's parents were in town so we got to visit with them, too. My parents-in-law left early Saturday morning, but Paul and I stayed until Sunday. It was so much fun! Gillis and I went shopping and Paul spent time with the boys. We also went to Beale Street and ate at the Flying Fish and went on a carriage ride downtown. Our nephews got two new Beagles and Paul helped put the doggie kennel together. Enclosed are some pictures. Some of them are out of order.

Paul was so proud that he got that kennel together! You can see it in the background. Oh...we also went swimming in Gillis' pool...it was fun!
